How did your partner propose?

At the top of the South Downs in a place we enjoy going to.

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?

Keep a spreadsheet of your costings. It’s very easy to just spend a bit more here and there but it soon adds up.

How did you go about finding your wedding dress?

I looked for different designers that were in the style I had wanted. I then went looking for shops that stocked that designer.

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?

It was less than 10. I went to 3 shops in total. I think because I was already clear of the style of dress I wanted from my research, I knew which dresses would suit me.

Do you know the name of your dress designer?

What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?

It was the simplicity but elegant style of the dress. I made modifications to the dress to tailor it to exactly what I wanted but once it was done, the detail just made me love it even more.

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?

I wore a long veil with a small hair pin.

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.

We had a barn wedding which was a Tudor style. Although we had navy blue as a loose colour theme, it had a lot of wood; log rounds, crates and flowers to decorate. We wanted to keep in style of the venue

What was your favourite moment from the day itself?

There are too many to describe but one was walking down the aisle with my dad and son, who is 2 at the start of the ceremony.

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?

If you’re happy to spend the time initially, wedding websites are great at keeping people up to date, managing rsvps and information like dietary requirements without spending loads on wedding stationery, stamps and manually having to manage rsvps. It saved so much time when you’re trying to finalise details with all of your suppliers closer to the wedding. We also linked this to our gift list online too.

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?

Because of COVID, we have decided to honeymoon next year and plan to go to Sardinia.
