How did your partner propose?
We went away for a long weekend in Monte Carlo to celebrate 10 years together. The day before our anniversary he surprised me with flowers all over our hotel suite (which overlooked Port Hercules!), a bottle of veuve clicquot chilling, and a note which said "you can only open the champagne if you get the next question correct…" I turned around and he was down on one knee!
What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?
Walk slowly down the aisle taking everything in - and look at Rich!
How did you go about finding your wedding dress?
I was pretty relaxed as I had no idea what I wanted, so made a few appointments locally and visited two shops before I found ‘The One’ in Fross. Thank you so so much for being the most amazing bridal boutique ever!!
How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?
My dress was the 30th one I tried.
What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?
Not only did I feel incredible in it, but when I looked in the mirror the first thing I thought was my Granny would have loved this (she died 20 years ago so never got to see me grow up). The dress was so classic and I just knew she would have adored it.
Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?
I wore a gorgeous one-tier veil with scalloped edges and crystals scattered all over. I also wore a hair piece. The dress originally came with a matching stain thin belt, but I replaced this with a small sparkly belt to add some jazz to the dress.
Tell us a little about your wedding day
The vibe was chilled, but structured if that makes sense! We went for a blush and rose gold theme with big floral displays including dahlia’s (my favourite flower). I have been to countless weddings and I started to notice more and more what I didn’t want so just went with what felt right and what complimented Rich and I’s personalities.
What was your favourite moment from the day itself?
We had singing waiters perform in between the main course and the dessert and they were incredible! Everyone was up on their feet singing along and dancing in between the tables… my favourite moment from the whole day is when Rich told me to look around at that moment at our guests. To see 100 of your closest friends and family having such an amazing time on your wedding day is such a fantastic feeling. We just sat back and watched everyone enjoying the singing and it’s a feeling I will never forget.
Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?
Do not stress over the little things and don’t expect your day to be perfect. Tiny things will go wrong, but no one but you will even notice them so just enjoy the day and make sure you take a moment to sit back and watch everyone’s faces – it really is an incredible feeling.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We went on 'minimoon' a couple of days after the wedding for four nights to Bath. We stayed in this really cute treehouse overlooking the most stunning views. Our main honeymoon is four weeks after the wedding, to Kenya and Zanzibar.
