We caught up with Fross bride Kate to find out all about her 'boho glam' wedding day in a stunning St Patrick
gown from our collection!
How did your partner propose?
We were on holiday in Spain with my family. We went to my favourite part of the old town, and just as I turned around, he was one knee in a beautiful courtyard. My family were with us too so it couldn't have been more perfect
What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to the big day?
Not to get too worried about keeping everyone happy. It is your day, and getting married is the most important part. Too much time, money and stress can be spent pleasing others.
How did you go about finding the perfect wedding dress?
I had actually already got a dress I had bought, but I didn't feel like it was the one. I think I was rushed in to the decision. I actually picked a shop I liked the look of (Fross) and actually went to my initial appointment on my own. I know this sounds crazy, but I didn't want anyone else's opinion at this point. I just wanted my own. Later on, I got my family and friends down to confirm that the dress was the one :)
How many dresses did you try on before finding The One?
I'd say about 4! The dress I chose was by St Patrick
- an elegant, mermaid wedding gown with a crepe skirt with a lovely drape movement and embroidered beaded bodice.
What made you fall in love with the dress you chose?
It really complimented my figure. I'm pretty curvy, so you have to make sure you fund the style which suits you. I also loves the boho vibe of the off the shoulder straps. I didn't want anything too restrictive, this way I could party the night away!
What bridal accessories did you choose?
I'm very understated with accessories, so just chose a few white flowers for my hair and a simple dainty chain on my neck.
Tell us about your wedding day.
My wedding was a mixture of fun filled party with a great life band, but also a touch of glam. We didn't want anything too formal, so we had a marquee for our reception, which was decorated very rustic with greenery logs and candles. We just wanted people to feel relaxed and have a good time. But most importantly, feel the love.
What was your favourite moment from your big day?
When me and my husband had our first kiss after our vows, our guests went absolutely wild. The room was electric, and fully of clapping, screaming, and tears. I can still hear it now. It gives me goosebumps!
What theme did you pick for the wedding?
Very boho, relaxed. Lots of white and green flowers. We love our food, so a lot of our budget went in to providing delicious food all day long.
What advice would you give to other brides-to-be?
Don't sweat the small stuff. Things like favours, they are lovely, but don't stress it if you can't afford it. People are there because they want to see you get married. I spent months stressing about silly little things which I didn't even need to worry about.
Also, try and have 10 minutes or so with just your husband/wife, to just go for a walk, and take it all in. I loved that special moment we shared, just us.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
A few of the Greek islands, ending in Santorini. We absolutely loved it.
