Aimee's Traveling-Themed Wedding in San Patrick

How did your partner propose?

Matt proposed in Vegas at the top of the Stratosphere Tower on my 30th Birthday. He had bought 30 presents for me, and the ring was the 30th (super cute!)

What’s the best piece of advice you received in the run up to your wedding?

Sounds silly but someone told me to set up a separate wedding email account so all wedding related emails went into one account which was such a simple idea but it really helped us!

How did you go about finding your wedding dress?

I visited one shop in Eastbourne and then someone suggested I visit Fross which I did and fell in love with my dress there and then.

How many dresses did you try on before you found ‘the one’?

I think I must have tried on about 12 dresses.

Do you know the name of your dress designer?

San Patrick- Alcarla Modern

What made you fall in love with the dress that you chose?

Oh where to start!!! I just fell in love with it straight away (Despite it being over my budget). I loved how it fitted me, the beautiful lace and the low back. When Fross then suggested I added the beautiful belt to it then it just finished the dress off.

Did you wear a veil and/or any other bridal accessories?

No veil, I didn’t feel that my dress needed it.

Tell us a little about your wedding day – the vibe, what inspired you, etc.

We had a traveling theme throughout our wedding as we both love to travel. Each table was a different place we visited in America and then the top table was where we got engaged. My Mother-in-Law, Sister, Mum, Matt and myself made all of the venue decorations which made it feel even more special and personalised.

Our original Wedding date and 2nd date were both summer dates so we decided although our Wedding was the 25th October it would not have an Autumnal theme and we stuck to a Summer Wedding theme.

What was your favourite moment from the day itself?

By far the best moment was when I got to the top of the aisle, and I saw Matt. All the stress and heartbreak of the postponed wedding dates totally vanished, and I realised it was all worth it. The other best part of the day was seeing everyone having so much fun and all the laughter in the room.

Is there any advice you would be happy to share with other brides?

The day goes by so quickly so make sure you take it all in. Spend time together as a couple away from the wedding party and just be together. I cannot believe how quickly it was over.

Are you taking a honeymoon and if so when (in relation to your wedding, ie, immediately after, or sometime later) and what are your plans?

Having had 2 honeymoons cancelled (Thanks to Covid!). We have now finally booked our Honeymoon to Jamaica next February. We are hoping by then it will be ok to travel. We cannot wait to lie on a beach and finally say “we made it.”
